Yangwang U7: BYD’s luxury sedan impresses with innovative suspension and high technology (X @BYDCompany)
Yangwang, BYD’s luxury sub-brand, has introduced its first luxury sedan, the U7, standing out with its DiSus-Z suspension system.
Instead of hydraulic shock absorbers, it uses magnetic motors that automatically adjust the suspension based on sensors and cameras. This technology allows for a smoother ride and can even lift a wheel with a flat tire, enabling the car to keep driving for up to 30 km at 80 km/h. Experts consider this system superior to advanced solutions already available, such as those from Audi and Mercedes.
The U7 also features the “God’s Eye” system, which combines LiDAR sensors, radars, and high-definition cameras to provide L2+ automation without requiring detailed maps.
The fully electric (EV) model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and has a range of up to 720 km, while the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version can travel up to 1,000 km by combining an electric and a combustion engine. Both models offer high performance, reaching a top speed of 270 km/h.
The sedan’s interior features premium materials such as Nappa leather, carbon fiber, and wood, along with a 12.8-inch curved OLED dashboard with AI assistance. The Dynaudio sound system includes 23 speakers, and there are multiple additional screens for passengers. The seats have electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage functions.
The U7 is available in China at prices ranging from approximately $87,500 to $98,768, excluding taxes and fees.
